Tag: Nach dem Frühstück im Hotel Stadtbesichtigung Eriwan mit Innenstadt,
Republic Square, State University, city panorama, Cascade,
Parliament, President’s Palace, Opera
House,
visit to the Genocide Memorial, dedicated o the Victims of 1915
and the Genocide Museum. Mittagessen
in einem netten einheimischen Restaurant. Walk and rest in the
Nice
open air cafe in the park area.

activities: a) Visit of the ruins of the Erebuni fortress, founded
during the Urartian Kingdom by King Argishti in 782 BC and the
Erebuni museum (1968) with Urartian period exhibits. Erebuni has
been renamed into Yerevansince the 7th century
A.D.,when it was the

of Armenia.

Visit of Famouns Armenian Cognac Plant with tasting of famous
Armenian Brandy.

Visit Matenadaran (depository for ancient manuscripts)

Visit to “Avant-garde Folk Mucic Club” which is the concert
place for local bands, and

where Armenian, Caucasus and international musicians and artists
meet, a so called “laboratory” for common musical work. Also
it is the place where broad, culture-interested local public and
foreign visitors gather.

Frühstück
im Hotel. 20 min. drive from Yerevan to the
summer residence of Armenian kings with the only remaining pagan
temple in Armenia devoted to the God of Sun – Myrth, in Garni,
built in 77 AD by King Trdat (Arshakid Dynasty). The temple is
Greco-Roman style with characteristic pillars. It stands proudly
on a rocky ridge with a deep canyon presenting a beautiful view.
Visit to the ruins of the Royal Palace and the Royal bath-house
nearby. Near is

the unique caved in the rock temple St. Geghard (12th-13th
cc.),the name of which means “holy spear” in the honor of the
long-preserved spear, the same spear that pierced the body of the
crucified Christ. It is ow exhibited in the museum or the
Etchmiadzin Cathedral, the spiritual center of Armenian Apostolic
Church. Geghard Monastery is included in the UNESCO World Heritage
lsit (2000). The program includes locally family hosted lunch in
village house with watching of “Lavash” (Armenian
traditional flat bread baked in stone-make oven) making process.

In the evening visit to ‘Malkhaz Jazz Club” the most popular
jazz club in Armenia.

In the evening visit to “aragast” open-air summercafe to enjoy
